When to Book
Fall King and Coho Salmon - September through November

Winter Steelhead Run - 2nd week of February through 1st week of May
Spring Chinook April, May and June

Being a tributary of the Columbia River the Cowlitz River is one of the few rivers in Washinton State that receive a good return of the prized Spring King Salmon also known as Spring Chinook.

Another great thing about the Cowlitz River is that it's open year round for Steelhead and gets the highest number of hatchery returns out of any non-Native Tributary in Western Washington.

A lot of people like the Cowlitz for it's beautiful green water and stunning views of Mt Rainier.  Others like fishing the Cowlitz because of the hands-on techniques that are so productive on this river system.
